BEHIND THE SCENES: ROCKY QUARTER — Q4 2025 UPDATE

“Consistency beats hype”

Since launching in May 2025, we’ve taken a very deliberate approach: no short bursts to hit vanity targets, no artificial hype cycles. Just showing up, week after week, with the same momentum.

What’s Changed Since Last Quarter

In Q4, I was still doing everything - filming, packing, replying, dropping off parcels myself.

  • Launched V2. Customers are raving about it. Some are now buying it for their entire family, and many used it as Christmas gifts - which is honestly wild for a male-focused skincare product.
  • 120+ five-star reviews across platforms, with customers doing UGC for us without asking:)
  • Lazada Mall launch, after being poached by a Lazada account manager. Early traction looks promising, likely spillover from TikTok.
  • 1,500+ TikTok followers, with 20+ affiliates actively promoting the product.
  • Despite being out of stock for the entire month of November, we still hit a new sales high.

Experiments and Improvements in Q4

What did we test this quarter?

Nothing.

I was hospitalised twice. The downside of being a solo founder is simple: when I’m down, everything stops.

That said - we got lucky.

The product has reached a point where it kind of sells itself.

What Worked

  • Actually listening to customers Launching a V2 of an existing skincare product is rare, more common in tech than beauty. But customers clearly loved seeing real improvements based on real feedback.
  • Direct outreach Personally checking in with customers two weeks after purchase is completely non-scalable, but it builds trust and authenticity you can’t fake.

What Didn’t Work

  • Offline channel — Selling an unknown $65 skincare product to men getting a $50 haircut didn’t make sense. Wrong context, wrong moment, wrong channel. At least not for now.

What’s Next for Q1 2026

  • Finding professional live sellers - being forced offline showed me I can’t do this alone.
  • Hiring interns to support marketing and content creation. (Again, lesson learned that I can’t do everything myself)
  • Starting R&D on a face wash, heavily requested by existing customers.

It’s been nine months.

The start was slow.

Now it’s getting real.

Looking back, I’m genuinely glad I started — even while juggling this alongside my day job, sacrificing my nights and weekends. What began as a product is slowly becoming something bigger.

Appreciate everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.

Stay unconquerable,

Jozua – Founder (aka slave)

Check V2 out!!!
